Spain

Spain is a country located in Southwestern Europe, occupying most of the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered by France and Andorra to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the northwest, and the Mediterranean Sea to the east and south. Spain’s territory also includes two archipelagos, the Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, as well as two autonomous cities, Ceuta and Melilla, located on the northern coast of Africa. The capital and largest city is Madrid.

Spain has a rich cultural heritage that includes influences from various civilizations throughout history, including the Romans, Moors, and Christian kingdoms. It is known for its diverse landscapes, languages, and traditions, as it comprises 17 autonomous communities, each with its own distinct culture and language. Spanish is the official language, although regional languages such as Catalan, Galician, and Basque are also recognized.

Spain is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with a king as its head of state and a prime minister as the head of government. It is a member of several international organizations, including the European Union and the United Nations, and is known for its contributions to art, literature, architecture, and cuisine.
